Melissa Snyder
FOUNDER
Since leaving Indiana in 1985, I have worn many different hats including, wife of 35 years (and counting!), parent, CFO of a farm corporation, retired CFO of a harness racetrack/slot/gaming facility, farmer, small business owner, home cook/decorator, wedding decorator, amateur gardener, home-schooler, landlord, storyteller, student, neighbour and loyal listener to many friends and even an activist from time to time when necessary. It is through all this hat-wearing that I have been led (with some additional coaxing from my sister!) to be a part of this blog. The old phrase of ‘jack of all trades, expert of none’ might apply to me but one phrase that many have used when describing me is ‘someone with common sense’. In this current time, common sense doesn’t seem to be common any more so I will attempt to apply that ‘sense’ and my life experiences to provide an opinion and/or suggestions to the questions that are put forward in this blog as well as some personal articles as well. Throughout the blog postings, a discovery of my many hats will reveal a more complete picture of some aspects of my life. I hope through this ‘revealing’, the readers will find an understanding that can be applied to their lives, where appropriate, or can ‘pay it forward’ to others who might need a hand up.
